Google Play Books lets you upload your own DRM-free EPUB and PDF files. You can then read them in its Android app.

1. Download the EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader.
2. Open the Google Play Books app on your Android device.
3. Use the upload option to add the downloaded file.
4. Open the book from your Play Books library.

You can also upload the file from the Play Books website using your computer or Google Drive. Once uploaded, the book is available through Play Books on the web, Android, and iPhone or iPad. Very large books may exceed Google’s upload size limit.

Read the EPUB in another Android app

You can keep the EPUB on your device and open it in any Android reading app that supports the format.

Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files and has a built-in text-to-speech mode. Download the story, open the EPUB in Moon+ Reader, and use the app’s reading controls.

If you downloaded a PDF, open it in an app that supports PDF files. WP Downloader does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files, so choose EPUB or PDF before downloading.

Listen to the story with text-to-speech

Android’s Select to Speak feature can read items on the screen aloud. Turn it on under Settings, then Accessibility. Open the story and use Select to Speak to hear text from the page.

Moon+ Reader also has a built-in text-to-speech mode for EPUB files. @Voice Aloud Reader can read EPUB files aloud as well.

These options use the text-to-speech voices installed on your Android device. The available voices determine how natural the narration sounds.

Keep track of your downloaded story

Give the file a recognizable name if your browser or reading app allows it. This will make it easier to find among your other downloads.

Keep the original EPUB or PDF until you have checked that it opens in your preferred app. When the story gets new chapters, return to the Stories of Arda download guide and download a fresh copy.
