How to Read a Spuffy Realm Story on a Kobo E-reader
To read a story from The Spuffy Realm on a Kobo e-reader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and transfer the file to your Kobo. USB works with any Kobo, while some models can also import files through Dropbox or Google Drive.
Download the story as an EPUB
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. For The Spuffy Realm, it downloads complete stories rather than individual chapters or lists.
Find the story you want on spikeluver.com. Its address should look like this:
https://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/viewstory.php?sid=1234 Copy the complete address, then:
- Open the The Spuffy Realm Downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Choose EPUB as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the finished EPUB.
You do not need a The Spuffy Realm account. EPUB downloads are free and do not require a sign-in.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF with a free Discord sign-in. EPUB is usually the better choice for this guide because Kobo e-readers open EPUB files natively. WPD does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
See how to download The Spuffy Realm stories for more details about the download process.
Put the EPUB on your Kobo with USB
When you connect a Kobo to a computer by USB, it appears as a drive. To copy the story:
- Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
- Open the Kobo drive on the computer.
- Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Copy the EPUB onto the Kobo drive.
- Eject the Kobo safely.
- Disconnect the cable.
The story will appear in your Kobo library. You can open it like any other EPUB and read it without returning to The Spuffy Realm in a browser.
Add the story through Dropbox
Dropbox transfers are available on Kobo Forma, Kobo Sage, Kobo Elipsa, Kobo Elipsa 2E, and Kobo Libra Colour. The e-reader must have software version 4.18 or later.
Link your Dropbox account from the Kobo, place the EPUB in the connected cloud folder, and sync the e-reader. The book will then appear on that Kobo.
The same method works with a non-protected PDF downloaded from WP Downloader. Files imported through Dropbox appear only on the device where you added them.
Add the story through Google Drive
Google Drive is available on Kobo Forma, Kobo Sage, Kobo Elipsa, Kobo Elipsa 2E, and Kobo Libra Colour. It requires Kobo software version 4.37 or later.
To connect Google Drive from the e-reader:
- Go to Home.
- Select More.
- Select My Google Drive.
- Choose Get Started.
- Enter the displayed code on the Kobo website.
- Put the EPUB in the connected Google Drive folder.
- Sync your Kobo.
The story will appear on that Kobo after it syncs. Files imported through Google Drive appear only on the device where you added them.
Use USB if your Kobo does not support Dropbox or Google Drive.
Get new chapters later
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB already stored on your Kobo. If the author publishes more chapters, download the complete story again.
Transfer the new EPUB to your Kobo by USB, Dropbox, or Google Drive. The new file will contain the chapters that WP Downloader can retrieve at the time of the download.
For other ways to keep a story available away from the website, see how to read The Spuffy Realm stories offline. You can also follow the separate guide to sending The Spuffy Realm stories to Kindle.
