How to Read SciFiStories on a Barnes & Noble NOOK

To read a SciFiStories story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. Barnes & Noble calls this “sideloading.” Once the file is on your NOOK, you can read it offline.

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. It downloads complete SciFiStories stories in English. Individual chapters and story lists are not supported.

Step 1: Download the SciFiStories story as an EPUB

Open the SciFiStories downloader in your browser. You can also paste the story link into the box on the WP Downloader home page. The tool will detect the site automatically.

1. Copy the story URL.
2. Paste it into WP Downloader.
3. Sign in with your SciFiStories account when prompted.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Select EPUB and download the book.

You must sign in with a SciFiStories account. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only content that your account is allowed to read and cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Step 2: Connect your NOOK to your computer

Connect the NOOK to your computer with its USB cable.

A NOOK GlowLight should appear on the computer as a drive named “NOOK.” On a newer model, you may need to turn on file transfer mode:

1. Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
2. Tap “USB for charging.”
3. Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”

Your computer can now access the NOOK.

Step 3: Sideload the EPUB

Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader, then drag it onto the NOOK drive or copy it to the connected device.

Wait for the transfer to finish. Eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the USB cable.

You can then open the EPUB on your NOOK and read it offline.

Updating a story with new chapters

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author publishes more chapters, return to the SciFiStories downloader and download the complete story again.

The new EPUB will contain the version your account can access at that time. Copy it to your NOOK using the same USB steps.
