How to Read a Missing Pieces Story on a NOOK

To read a Missing Pieces story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, first download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then copy the EPUB to your NOOK and read it offline.

Download the Missing Pieces story as an EPUB

Copy the EPUB to your NOOK GlowLight

Barnes & Noble calls copying your own files to a NOOK “sideloading.” You will need the EPUB, your NOOK GlowLight, a USB cable, and a computer.

Connect the NOOK to your computer

Connect the NOOK GlowLight to your computer with the USB cable.

On newer models, change the USB setting so the computer can access the device:

1. Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
2. Tap “USB for charging.”
3. Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”

The device should appear on your computer as a drive named “NOOK.”

Copy the story to the NOOK

Find the EPUB created by WP Downloader and drag it onto the NOOK drive.

Wait for the file to finish copying. The EPUB contains the entire story, so you do not need to transfer each chapter separately.

Eject the NOOK

Eject the NOOK drive from your computer before unplugging the USB cable. Once it has been ejected, disconnect it from the computer. The EPUB is now stored on the NOOK for offline reading.

Download new chapters later

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. If the author updates the story, return to the Missing Pieces downloader, paste the same link, and download the entire story again.

Copy the new EPUB to your NOOK using the same USB steps. If both versions remain on the device, check that you open the newer file.
