How to Read Missing Pieces Stories in KOReader
To read a Missing Pieces story in KOReader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader, copy the file to your device, and open it from KOReader’s file browser. The story will then be available to read offline.

KOReader is a free, open-source document reader for Kobo, PocketBook, and Android devices. It also runs on Kindles that have been jailbroken.
Installing KOReader on a Kobo or Kindle is a separate, unofficial process. This guide assumes it is already installed.
Step 1: Copy the Missing Pieces story link
Open the story on Missing Pieces, the Pretender Centre fiction archive. Its address should look like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Missing Pieces downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will recognize the site and prepare the story for download.
You do not need a Pretender Centre account. Missing Pieces stories are in English, and WP Downloader saves the whole story in one file.
Choose EPUB to open the story directly in KOReader. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can choose to include the story’s images.
KOReader also opens PDF files. Downloading a PDF from WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Step 3: Copy the EPUB to your device
After downloading the EPUB, copy it to the device where you use KOReader.
Kobo or PocketBook
Connect the e-reader to your computer with USB and copy the EPUB to the device. Put it in a folder that you can easily find in KOReader’s file browser, then safely disconnect the reader.

Android
Copy the EPUB to your Android phone, tablet, or e-reader using your usual Android file-transfer method. Note which folder you use so you can find the file in KOReader.
If you downloaded the story on the Android device, look in the folder where your browser saves downloads.
Kindle
KOReader runs only on Kindles that have been jailbroken. Installing it is an unofficial process and is separate from downloading the story.
If KOReader is already installed, copy the EPUB to your Kindle as usual. You can also use the method in how to send Missing Pieces stories to Kindle.
Step 4: Open the story in KOReader
Open KOReader and go to its file browser. Find the folder containing the EPUB, then select the file.
The same process works with a PDF because KOReader opens both EPUB and PDF. EPUB is simpler to download because it does not require a Discord sign-in.
The story is now available on your device for offline reading.
Downloading new chapters later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. When a Missing Pieces story is updated, download the whole story again through the Missing Pieces downloader.
Copy the new file to your device and open it in KOReader. You can remove the older copy if you no longer need it.
