How to Read Nine Lives Archive Stories on a Flight

Download your Nine Lives Archive story before the flight and save it as an EPUB or PDF on the device you are taking. Once the file is stored on your device and opens in your reading app, you can read it in airplane mode without Wi-Fi.

Download the story before your flight

Put the story on your device

Make sure the downloaded file is stored on the device or delivered to the reading app you will use during the flight.

Phone or tablet

Download the EPUB or PDF directly to your phone or tablet. Open an EPUB in an EPUB-compatible reading app or a PDF in a PDF-compatible app.

Open the book once before leaving. This confirms that the download is complete and your chosen app can read the file. If you downloaded it on another device, move it to the phone or tablet you are taking while you still have internet access.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Amazon’s Send to Kindle accepts EPUB and PDF files. You can send the book:

• By email to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address
• Through the Send to Kindle app
• Through Send to Kindle on the web

Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library. It can then appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app. Delivery requires an internet connection, so send the file before your flight and wait for it to appear on the device you are taking.

Kobo

Save the EPUB or PDF on the laptop you plan to bring. Check that you have a compatible reading app and open the book before the trip. Once the file is stored locally, you can read it without Wi-Fi.

Test the book in airplane mode

Check that everything works offline before you leave:

1. Confirm that the entire file has downloaded.
2. Open it in your reading app or on your e-reader.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close the book, then open it again.
5. Check several chapters to make sure the story and any included images are available.

If the book does not open, turn off airplane mode and finish downloading or delivering it. For Kindle, both sending the file and receiving it on the device require an internet connection.

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. If the story is updated, download it again to create a new copy with the available chapters.
