How to Read NCISFiction Stories on Android
Start by downloading the complete NCISFiction story as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then open the file in an EPUB reader, upload it to Google Play Books, or listen with an Android reading app that supports text-to-speech.
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. It works with stories on ncisfiction.com and classic.squidge.org.
Download the NCISFiction story
Go to the NCISFiction Downloader and paste the story address into the box. A typical link looks like this:
https://ncisfiction.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234WP Downloader detects the site and prepares the story. It downloads the whole story from NCISFiction, rather than a single chapter or a list of stories.
You can choose from two formats:
- EPUB is free for everyone and works with EPUB reading apps on Android.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in and opens in apps that support PDF files.
Select the option to include the story’s images if you want to keep them in the downloaded file.
You do not need to sign in to download a public NCISFiction story. If you have an account on the site, signing in lets WP Downloader fetch members-only stories that your account can read. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.
WP Downloader only downloads material your account can already read. It cannot bypass access restrictions.
Open the EPUB on Android
After downloading the EPUB to your Android phone or tablet, open it in an app that supports EPUB files.
Google Play Books and Moon+ Reader are two options. If you mainly want to listen to the story, you can also use @Voice Aloud Reader.
Read with Google Play Books
Google Play Books accepts DRM-free EPUB and PDF files that you upload yourself. Once you upload the NCISFiction story, you can read it in Play Books on Android, on the web, or on an iPhone or iPad.
You can upload the file through the Google Play Books Android app. You can also use the Play Books website on a computer and upload it from the computer or Google Drive.
Very large stories may reach Google’s upload size limit. If a file will not upload, try opening the EPUB directly in another Android reader.
Read with Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader for Android opens EPUB files. Open or import the EPUB from WP Downloader, then select it in the app to start reading.
The app also has a built-in text-to-speech mode for reading the story aloud.
Listen to the story on Android
You can listen to a downloaded NCISFiction story in several ways:
- Turn on Select to Speak under Accessibility in Android’s Settings, then tap items on the screen to hear them read.
- Open the EPUB in Moon+ Reader and use its built-in text-to-speech mode.
- Open the EPUB in @Voice Aloud Reader, which reads EPUB files aloud.
All of these options use the text-to-speech voices installed on your device. How natural the narration sounds depends on the voices available on your Android phone or tablet.
Reading updated stories
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the NCISFiction story gains more chapters, return to the NCISFiction Downloader, paste the story link again, and download a new copy.
The new file will contain the complete story available to you at the time of the download. You can then open it in your preferred Android reader.
