How to Read Dokuga Stories on a PocketBook
You can read a Dokuga story offline on a PocketBook by downloading it with WP Downloader, then transferring the EPUB by email or USB.
Download the Dokuga story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. It downloads the whole Dokuga story as a file your PocketBook can open.
Find the story on dokuga.com. Its URL should look like this:
http://www.dokuga.com/fanfiction/story/1234/1 Copy the URL, then:
- Open the Dokuga downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Choose EPUB.
- Select the image option if you want to include the story’s images.
- Start the download and save the EPUB to your phone or computer.
For Dokuga, WP Downloader downloads whole stories rather than individual chapters or lists.
You do not need to sign in for a public story. If a story is restricted to members, you can sign in with your Dokuga account to download anything that account can already read. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the requested story. It cannot bypass membership restrictions, paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.
The guide to downloading Dokuga stories covers this process in more detail.
Choose between EPUB and PDF
PocketBook e-readers can open EPUB and PDF files. WP Downloader provides both formats.
EPUB is free for everyone and usually suits fiction well. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
Once the download finishes, transfer the file with Send-to-PocketBook or a USB cable.
Send the EPUB by email
Send-to-PocketBook gives your reader a personal email address. You can send the EPUB to that address and sync the device to receive it.
Set up Send-to-PocketBook
On your PocketBook:
- Open Settings.
- Choose Accounts and synchronization.
- Select Send-to-PocketBook.
- Sign in and complete the setup.
- Open the activation email.
After activation, you will receive a personal address ending in @pbsync.com.
Email and sync the story
Attach the EPUB to an email and send it to your @pbsync.com address. Sync your PocketBook to download the file.
If it does not arrive, check whether your sending address is on the approved list. Send-to-PocketBook may ask you to whitelist the address before accepting its attachments. Approve it, send the EPUB again, and sync the reader.
Copy the story over USB
You can transfer the file directly from a computer:
- Connect the PocketBook to the computer with a USB cable.
- Open the reader’s storage on the computer.
- Copy the EPUB or PDF to the device.
- Complete the transfer before disconnecting the reader.
- Open the story on your PocketBook.
USB is a useful option if you do not want to set up Send-to-PocketBook or an emailed file has not appeared after syncing.
Download updated chapters
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When the author updates the Dokuga story, paste its link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.
The new file will contain the version available when you download it. Transfer it to your PocketBook using the same email or USB method.
