How to put a Quotev story on Kindle with calibre and USB
You can put a Quotev story on a Kindle without using Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Download the whole story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, add it to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and transfer it to your Kindle over USB.
You will need a computer because calibre runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download.

- A USB connection between the Kindle and computer

Step 1: Download the Quotev story as an EPUB
Open the Quotev story downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader detects that the link is from Quotev and prepares the story.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and can be converted to AZW3 in calibre. Select the image option before downloading if you want to include the story’s images.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF after a free Discord sign-in. For this method, choose EPUB so calibre can convert the file to AZW3.
The download includes the whole story. Quotev single chapters and lists are not supported. The Quotev download guide explains the download process in more detail.
Step 2: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select Add books. Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader and add it to your calibre library.
You can edit the story’s metadata or cover before converting it, but this is optional. You can also open the EPUB in calibre’s e-book viewer to check it on your computer. The viewer includes a Read aloud feature.
Step 3: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the Quotev story in calibre and choose the option to convert the book. Set AZW3 as the output format, then start the conversion.
WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files. It provides the EPUB, and calibre converts it to a Kindle format.
AZW3 is a Kindle format suitable for transfer over USB. Kindle e-readers can also open MOBI files copied over USB. Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI, but Kindles can still open MOBI and AZW3 files transferred directly over USB.
Step 4: Send the story to your Kindle over USB
Connect the Kindle to your computer with USB. Once calibre recognizes it, select the converted story and use Send to device.
Calibre copies the book to the Kindle. When the transfer is complete, disconnect the Kindle and open the story on the device.
WP Downloader creates the EPUB, calibre converts it to AZW3, and the USB connection transfers the converted book to your Kindle without using Send to Kindle.
Getting newer chapters later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the Quotev author publishes more chapters, download the whole story again.
Add the new EPUB to calibre, convert it again, and transfer the updated version to your Kindle. You can manage both copies in your calibre library and on the device.
USB transfer or Send to Kindle?
Use calibre and USB if you want to convert the story to AZW3 and copy it directly to a connected Kindle. Calibre also lets you organize your library, edit metadata and covers, convert files, and read books on your computer.
