How to Put a Fanfics.me Story on a Kindle With calibre and USB
You can put a Fanfics.me story on a Kindle without using Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. First download the whole story as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then use calibre to convert it to AZW3 and copy it to your Kindle over USB.
What you need

- The Fanfics.me story link
- A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
- calibre, a free e-book manager
- Your Kindle and a USB cable
- An internet connection for the initial download
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download. calibre handles the conversion and USB transfer.
Step 1: Copy the Fanfics.me story link
Open the story on fanfics.me and copy its URL. A story link looks like this:

Fanfics.me stories are in Russian. The downloaded copy stays in the original language.
Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Fanfics.me downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will recognize it as a Fanfics.me link.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone, and calibre can convert it to a Kindle format. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
You do not need to sign in for public stories. For a members-only story, signing in with your Fanfics.me account allows WP Downloader to fetch anything that account can already read. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select Add books. Find the EPUB from WP Downloader and add it to your calibre library.
Before converting the story, you can edit its metadata or cover to change how it appears on your Kindle.
Step 4: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the story in calibre and open the conversion option. Choose AZW3 as the output format and start the conversion.
WP Downloader does not create AZW3 or MOBI files. It supplies the EPUB, which calibre converts on your computer.
Kindles can open AZW3 and MOBI files copied over USB. Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI, but that does not affect direct USB transfers through calibre.
Step 5: Connect your Kindle over USB
Connect your Kindle to the computer with a USB cable. When calibre recognizes it, select the converted story and choose Send to device.
After calibre copies the book, disconnect the Kindle and open the story from its library.
In this process, WP Downloader creates the EPUB, calibre converts it, and the USB connection moves the converted book to your Kindle.

Read the story on your computer
You can also read the EPUB on your computer without a Kindle. calibre includes an e-book viewer that can open the story before you convert or transfer it.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature for listening on your computer.
Get newly published chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB already in your calibre library. If the author publishes more chapters, download the whole story again.
Add the new EPUB to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and send the new copy to your Kindle over USB.
