Put a Bloodshedverse story on Kindle with calibre

You can put a story from The Bloodshedverse on a Kindle without Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Download the whole story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then use calibre to convert it to AZW3 and copy it to your Kindle over USB.

What you need

Have these ready:

The Bloodshedverse story link
A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
calibre, the free e-book manager
Your Kindle e-reader and its USB cable

Step 1: Download the story with WP Downloader

Open the Bloodshedverse downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will recognize the site and prepare the whole story.

Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone. To keep pictures from the story, turn on the option to include images before downloading.

WP Downloader does not create AZW3 or MOBI files. It provides the EPUB, which calibre can convert for your Kindle.

Kindles can still open MOBI and AZW3 files copied over USB. Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI, but that restriction does not apply to USB transfers.

Step 4: Connect your Kindle over USB

Connect the Kindle to your computer with its USB cable and wait for calibre to recognize it.

Select the converted story in your calibre library, then choose Send to device. calibre will copy the book to the Kindle. You can open the story on the device after the transfer finishes.

Why use calibre instead of Send to Kindle?

A USB transfer is useful if you already manage your books in calibre or want to convert the EPUB to AZW3 before copying it to your Kindle.

The steps are:
