Do Ashwinder Stories Count Toward Apple Books Reading Goals?

Download an Ashwinder story with WP Downloader

Add the story to Apple Books
Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Imported stories appear in your Library.
On an iPhone or iPad
After downloading the file:
- Open the EPUB or PDF from the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
- Tap Share.
- Choose Books.
- Open Apple Books and find the story in your Library.
On a Mac
Open the Books app and drag the EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the downloaded file.
The Ashwinder story will appear in your Apple Books Library.
How Apple Books Reading Goals work
Apple Books tracks:
- How many minutes you read each day
- How many books and audiobooks you finish each year
The daily goal is five minutes by default. You can change it from the Reading Now tab on an iPhone or iPad, or from Home on a Mac.
Adding a story to your Library does not add reading time. You need to open it and read in Apple Books.
Check whether an imported Ashwinder EPUB counts
Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. You can check on your device:
- Note today’s reading time in Apple Books.
- Open the imported Ashwinder EPUB.
- Read for a minute or two.
- Return to your Reading Goals.
- See whether today’s reading time increased.

Make Ashwinder PDFs count toward your reading goal
PDFs count toward the reading goal only when Include PDFs is turned on.
On current versions of iOS, open Settings, Apps, Books, then turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, Books, and turn on the same option.
Once it is enabled, open the Ashwinder PDF in Apple Books and read it there. You can compare the reading-time total before and after reading to check the result on your device.
