How to Back Up Twilighted Stories for Personal Reading

Authors and archive sites can edit, unpublish or delete stories. If you expect to reread a Twilighted story, WP Downloader can save a personal EPUB or PDF copy for offline reading. The file preserves the story as it was when you downloaded it.

Keep the copy for your own reading. Do not re-upload the story or share the downloaded file.

Download a Twilighted story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. For Twilighted, it downloads complete stories in English. It does not download individual chapters or lists.

1. Open the Twilighted downloader.
2. Copy the story URL from Twilighted. It should look similar to this:

3. Paste the URL into WP Downloader.
4. Sign in with your Twilighted account when prompted. Twilighted downloads require an account on that site.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the story as an EPUB. This format is free for everyone.
7. To download a PDF instead, sign in with a free Discord account and choose PDF.

WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only what your account can already read and does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters or age restrictions.

What the backup contains

An EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader is a snapshot of the version available at the time of download. It does not remain connected to Twilighted.

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. If the author publishes another chapter or edits the story, download the complete story again. You can replace the earlier copy or keep both versions.

Adding the download date to the filename makes separate versions easier to identify. Store the files somewhere you will be able to find them instead of leaving every copy in your Downloads folder.

Keep a copy on your phone or tablet

Keep the original EPUB in your files after adding it to your preferred reading app. You can then move that copy to another device later.

You can also download the story as a PDF if you prefer that format. EPUB works with calibre, which can organize the story and convert it to another format when needed.

Organize backups with calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. You can use it to keep downloaded stories in a personal library on your computer.

To add a story:

1. Open calibre.
2. Select “Add books.”
3. Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Check the title, author, cover and other metadata.
5. Edit the metadata or cover if you want to make the story easier to identify.

calibre includes an e-book viewer for reading on your computer. The viewer also has a “Read aloud” feature.

If your device needs another format, calibre can convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI or PDF. WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI or TXT files. calibre can also send books to a connected e-reader over USB.

Put the story on an e-reader

The transfer process depends on your device.

Update the backup

When a Twilighted story gets new chapters or edits, paste its URL into WP Downloader and download the complete story again. The earlier EPUB will not update automatically.

Replace the old file if you only want the newest version, or keep both copies with their download dates in the filenames.
