How to back up Tenhawk Presents stories

You can keep a personal copy of a Tenhawk Presents story in case the author or site edits, unpublishes, or deletes it. WP Downloader saves the complete story as an EPUB that you can store and read offline. The file contains the version available when you downloaded it.

Back up members-only stories

Public Tenhawk Presents stories do not require an account. If you sign in with an account from that site, WP Downloader can also fetch members-only stories that the account can read.

Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested. WP Downloader cannot bypass account requirements or other restrictions, and it downloads only the material available to your account.

Once the download finishes, open the EPUB and check that it contains the story you expected.

Keep more than one copy

Do not leave your only copy in a temporary downloads folder. Store the original EPUB in a clearly named folder on your phone or computer, then copy it to another device or storage location you control.

Manage the EPUB with calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can help you organize a larger personal library.

After installing calibre:

Open calibre and select “Add books.”
Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
Check the title, author, metadata, and cover.
Read the book on your computer with calibre’s e-book viewer.
Connect an e-reader by USB if you want to send the book to that device.

The e-book viewer also has a “Read aloud” feature for listening on your computer.

WP Downloader cannot create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. If your device requires another format, calibre can convert the EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF.

Update your copy when a story changes

A downloaded EPUB stays as it was when you saved it. Changes to the online story, including edits and new chapters, will not appear in that file.

WP Downloader cannot add chapters to an existing EPUB. To save later chapters or revisions, return to the downloader, paste the story link again, and download another copy.

You can replace the older file or keep both versions. If you keep several snapshots, add the download date to each filename so you can distinguish them. Check the new copy before deleting an earlier one.
