How to Back Up Stories of Arda Stories
Authors and archive sites can edit, unpublish, or delete stories. WP Downloader lets you save a personal EPUB copy of a Stories of Arda story for offline reading. The file preserves the version that was available when you downloaded it.
Download the story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. You do not need to sign in to download from Stories of Arda.
Find the story’s chapter list page on storiesofarda.com. Its address should look like this:
http://www.storiesofarda.com/chapterlistview.asp?SID=1234 Then:
- Open the Stories of Arda downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the story as an EPUB.
EPUB is free for everyone. PDF is also available after you sign in with a free Discord account.
WP Downloader downloads the whole story from Stories of Arda. It does not download individual chapters or story lists. It only saves material that is already available for you to read and does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Treat the EPUB as a dated snapshot
An EPUB contains the version of the story available at the time of download. If the online version is later edited, unpublished, or deleted, your copy remains unchanged.
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. When an author publishes another chapter or revises the story, download it again to get the newer version.
If you want to keep an earlier version as well, give each file a name that distinguishes it from later downloads. You can also store a second copy in another folder or on another device so that the story is not lost with a single file.
Keep downloaded copies for your own reading. Do not re-upload or share them.
Save and open the story on your phone or tablet
Save the EPUB somewhere easy to find, such as your device’s downloads or files area. You can then open your reading app and use its option to open or import an EPUB.
Keep the original EPUB in a folder you recognize after importing it into an app. This gives you a separate copy and makes it easier to move the book to another reader later.
If you download a PDF instead, save it in the same way and open it with an app that supports PDF files.
Organize your backups with calibre
Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can help you organize a larger personal collection of downloaded stories.
To add a Stories of Arda story:
- Download the EPUB from WP Downloader.
- Open calibre and select “Add books.”
- Choose the downloaded EPUB.
- Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
- Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
Calibre’s e-book viewer includes a Read aloud feature for listening to the saved story on your computer.
You can also use calibre to convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not produce AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files, so conversion may help if your device or reading setup needs another format.
Move the backup to an e-reader
You can add the EPUB to a compatible e-reader directly or manage the transfer through calibre. The steps depend on the device.
For device-specific help, follow the guide to send Stories of Arda stories to Kindle or read Stories of Arda stories on Kobo.
Keep the original file after transferring it. You can use that copy to restore the book if you remove it from the e-reader or replace the device.
