How to Back Up Potions and Snitches Stories

Authors and archive sites can edit, unpublish or delete stories. WP Downloader lets you save a personal copy of a Potions and Snitches story as an EPUB or PDF. You can keep the file on your phone, computer or e-reader for offline reading.

To save a copy:

1. Open the Potions and Snitches downloader.
2. Copy the story link.
3. Paste it into the download box.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the finished file to your device.

Treat your download as a snapshot

An EPUB or PDF contains the version of the story available when you downloaded it. Your copy remains available if the online story is later edited, unpublished or deleted.

The file will not receive new chapters automatically, and WP Downloader cannot add chapters to an existing EPUB. Download the story again whenever you want an updated copy.

You can keep both files if you want to preserve the earlier version. Otherwise, check the new download for the chapters you expected before replacing the old one.

Organize the backup on your device

Keep your downloaded EPUB or PDF files in a folder for personal fiction backups. If you save several versions of a story, give each file a clear name so you can tell them apart. You can also keep EPUB and PDF files in separate folders if you open them with different reading apps.

On a phone or tablet, find the downloaded file and open it in an app that supports its format. Use an EPUB reader for EPUB files and a PDF reader for PDFs. You can also keep another personal copy on your computer.

Manage EPUB backups with calibre

Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. It can help you manage a larger collection of downloaded stories.

After installing calibre:

1. Select Add books and choose the EPUB files you downloaded.
2. Edit the metadata or cover if needed.
3. Read the story in calibre’s e-book viewer.
4. Select Read aloud in the viewer to listen to it.
5. Connect an e-reader by USB and send books to it from calibre.

Calibre can convert EPUB files to formats such as AZW3, MOBI or PDF. WP Downloader produces EPUB and PDF files, but it does not produce AZW3, MOBI or TXT files.

Put the story on an e-reader

After downloading the EPUB, you can move it to your preferred e-reader. Calibre can add the file to its library and send it to a connected device over USB.
