How to Save Copies of Nine Lives Archive Stories

Read the story on a phone or tablet

If you downloaded an EPUB, add it to an app that can open EPUB files. Your browser may place the file in your device’s downloads area, where you can choose an app to open it.

A PDF can be opened with an app that supports PDF files. Keep the original downloaded file after adding the story to a reading app so you still have a separate copy.

Organize stories with calibre

Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can add EPUB files to a library, edit metadata and covers, convert books to other formats, and open them in its e-book viewer.

To add a story:

1. Open calibre.
2. Select “Add books.”
3. Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Check the title and other metadata.
5. Keep a separate copy of the original file if you want one left unchanged.

Calibre can convert EPUB files to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files. Calibre can also send books to a connected e-reader over USB.

Its e-book viewer has a “Read aloud” feature for listening to the saved story.

Move the story to an e-reader

Start with the EPUB from WP Downloader. Calibre can send it to an e-reader connected over USB or convert it when you need another format.

Download later chapters and edits

An EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader does not change when the story changes. If the author edits the story or publishes more chapters, download it again to get the newer version.
