How to Back Up Midnight Whispers Stories

Authors and sites can edit, unpublish or delete stories. WP Downloader lets you save a personal EPUB or PDF copy of a Midnight Whispers story while it is available. The file is a snapshot of the story at the time of download, which you can keep for offline reading.

Download a Midnight Whispers story

WP Downloader is a free web tool. You do not need to install anything or sign in to Midnight Whispers.

1. Open the story on midnightwhispers.net or midnightwhispers.ca.
2. Copy its address from your browser. A story address looks like this:

3. Open the Midnight Whispers downloader.
4. Paste the story link into the box.
5. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
6. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
7. Download the file and save it somewhere you can find later.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story from Midnight Whispers. It does not download individual chapters or story lists.

Download updated copies

An EPUB or PDF does not stay connected to the original story. If the author edits the story or adds chapters, the copy you already downloaded will remain unchanged.

Paste the story link into WP Downloader again to get the newer version. WPD cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB.

You may want to keep both versions. Clear filenames or separate folders can help you tell the earlier and later copies apart.

Keep downloaded stories for your own reading. Do not re-upload or share them.

Store a copy on your phone or tablet

After downloading an EPUB, find the file and open it in an app that supports EPUB. Open a PDF in a PDF reader.

Move the file into a folder you use for books or Midnight Whispers backups. You can also keep another personal copy on your computer or e-reader.

Organize stories with calibre

Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. You can use it to keep a larger collection of downloaded stories together.

To add a story:

1. Open calibre on your computer.
2. Select Add books.
3. Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Find the book in your calibre library.
5. Edit its metadata or cover if needed.

Calibre has an e-book viewer for reading EPUB files on your computer. The viewer also includes a Read aloud feature.

You can convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI or PDF with calibre. WP Downloader itself produces EPUB and PDF files, not MOBI, AZW3 or TXT. Calibre can also send books to a connected e-reader over USB.

Copy the story to an e-reader

Keep the original EPUB if you convert it for another device. You can use the converted file for reading while retaining the EPUB as your original copy.

Open the file on your device to check that you downloaded the intended story and can read it in your chosen app.
