How to Add Wattpad Stories to Calibre
To add a Wattpad story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file into your calibre library. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything.
Download the Wattpad story as an EPUB
Find the Wattpad story you want to save. Its address will usually look like this:

- Paste the Wattpad link into the box.
- Wait for WP Downloader to detect the site and load the story.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the EPUB.
Anyone can download an EPUB. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but that requires a free Discord sign-in. EPUB works well as the original file for a calibre library because calibre can manage it directly and convert it to other e-book formats.
Public Wattpad stories do not require an account. If you sign in with your Wattpad account, you can also download paid stories your account owns and stories from your library or archive. WP Downloader can only download material your account is already allowed to read. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.
WP Downloader also supports individual Wattpad parts and complete reading lists. Use the full story link if you want the entire work in calibre.
After you paste a single Wattpad story link, WP Downloader also shows a “Listen to audiobook” button. This opens Audora, a sister service that turns the story into an audiobook.
Add the EPUB to your calibre library
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once the EPUB finishes downloading, open calibre and select “Add books.” Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
The story will appear in your calibre library. From there, you can open it in calibre’s e-book viewer, organize it with your other fiction, or prepare it for a connected e-reader.
If you downloaded several Wattpad stories, add each EPUB separately. Keeping one EPUB per story makes the library easier to browse and helps distinguish different versions of a work.
Edit the metadata and cover
calibre lets you change a book’s metadata and cover. After adding the story, review its title, author, and cover, then edit any details you want to display differently in your library.
Using the same naming style for authors and recognizable covers can make a large fiction or fanfiction collection easier to browse. These edits change only the copy in your calibre library. They do not affect the original story on Wattpad.
Convert the EPUB for another device
WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
If your device or reading app needs another format, add the EPUB to calibre and use its conversion tools. calibre can convert an EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. You can keep the original EPUB in your library in case you later need a different format.

Send the story to an e-reader or read it in calibre
To transfer the story over USB, connect your e-reader to the computer running calibre. You can then send the book to the connected device from calibre. Convert it first if the device does not support EPUB.
You can also read the story on your computer with calibre’s e-book viewer. The viewer has a “Read aloud” feature for listening while the book is open.
Replace the EPUB when new chapters appear
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When the Wattpad story is updated, download it again to create a new EPUB with the chapters currently available.
Before adding the new file to calibre, decide whether to keep the older copy or replace it. A single current copy is easier to browse. If you want to keep separate versions, edit their metadata so you can tell them apart.
