How to Add SquidgeWorld Stories to Calibre
To add a SquidgeWorld Archive story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file with calibre’s Add books button. You can then organize, read, convert, or transfer it like any other e-book. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install it.
Download the SquidgeWorld story
Open the story on squidgeworld.org and copy its address. A SquidgeWorld work link looks like this:

- Choose EPUB as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.

Add the EPUB to calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. Once you have installed it:
- Open calibre.
- Select Add books.
- Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Select the file and add it to your library.
The story will appear with the other books in your library. You can open it in calibre’s e-book viewer and read it on your computer.
Organize the story in calibre
calibre lets you edit a book’s metadata and cover. You can change the displayed title, author information, or cover to match the way you organize your library. These edits affect only the downloaded copy in calibre, not the story on SquidgeWorld.
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the story is updated, download the whole story again and add the new file to calibre. You can then decide whether to keep or remove the older copy.
Convert the EPUB to another format
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. It provides EPUB for everyone and PDF after a free Discord sign-in.
If your reading device or app needs another format, calibre can convert the EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. Keeping the original EPUB in your library gives you a source file for later conversions.
Read the story or transfer it to an e-reader
Open the story in calibre’s e-book viewer to read it on your computer. The viewer also has a Read aloud feature.
To use a separate e-reader, connect it to your computer over USB. calibre can send books from its library to a connected device. If the device needs another format, convert the EPUB before transferring it.
