How to Add MTT Just Once Stories to Calibre

To add an MTT Just Once story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file with calibre’s Add books command. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install it.

Download the MTT Just Once story as an EPUB

Find the story on mtt.just-once.net. Its address should look similar to this:

Copy the complete story URL, then:

1. Open the MTT Just Once downloader.
2. Paste the story link into the box.
3. Choose EPUB as the output format.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.

You do not need an MTT Just Once account. WP Downloader downloads the whole story from this archive, not a single chapter or a list of stories.

Add the EPUB to calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once the EPUB is on the computer where calibre is installed:

1. Open calibre.
2. Select Add books.
3. Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Select the file and add it to your library.

The story will appear in your calibre library. You can read it in calibre’s e-book viewer, edit its details, convert it, or prepare it for another reading device.

Edit the story’s details and cover

Use calibre’s metadata tools to edit the story’s title and other details or change its cover. Consistent metadata can make stories easier to find in a large library.

If you download a newer copy of a story, you can edit its library entry to distinguish it from an older copy. Changes made in calibre affect only the copy in your library. They do not alter the original story on mtt.just-once.net.

Convert the story for another device

calibre can convert an imported EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not offer MOBI or AZW3 downloads, so those conversions take place in calibre.

You can keep the original EPUB in your library and create another format when your reading device or app needs one.

Transfer the story over USB

calibre can send books to an e-reader connected to your computer by USB.

Connect the reader and wait for calibre to recognize it, then use calibre’s device transfer option to send the book. If the reader requires a format other than EPUB, convert the story in calibre before transferring it.

Read or listen in calibre

calibre’s e-book viewer can open the EPUB on your computer, so you do not need a separate e-reader.

The viewer also has a Read aloud feature. Open the story in the viewer and choose Read aloud to listen to it.

Download stories with new chapters

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. To get the latest version:

1. Return to the MTT Just Once downloader.
2. Paste the story URL again.
3. Download the whole story as a new EPUB.
4. Add the new file to calibre.
5. Review its metadata if you want to distinguish it from an older copy.
