Add Fanfics.me Stories to Your Calibre Library
Download the Fanfics.me story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then import the file with calibre’s Add books button. From your calibre library, you can edit the book’s metadata and cover, read it on your computer, convert it, or transfer it to a connected e-reader.
Download the Fanfics.me story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. Open the Fanfics.me downloader and copy the link to the story you want. A typical link looks like this:
https://fanfics.me/fic1234Paste the link into WP Downloader. It will recognize Fanfics.me and prepare the whole story for download.
Choose EPUB for the steps in this guide. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can include the story’s images. WP Downloader also provides PDF after a free Discord sign-in.
Fanfics.me stories are in Russian. Signing in with your Fanfics.me account is optional, but it lets WP Downloader fetch members-only stories that your account can already read. The tool does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
WP Downloader saves whole Fanfics.me stories. It cannot download individual chapters or lists from the site. If the author publishes more chapters, download the whole story again because WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB.

Add the EPUB to calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. To add the downloaded story:
- Open calibre on your computer.
- Select Add books.
- Find the downloaded EPUB file.
- Select the file and add it to your library.
The story will appear in your calibre library. Repeat these steps for each Fanfics.me story you want to keep.
Edit the title, author, and cover
calibre uses metadata to identify and organize books. After importing a story, check its title and author.
You can edit the metadata and cover in calibre. This can help you keep author names and titles consistent or choose covers that make stories easier to find. These changes apply only to the copy in your calibre library. They do not affect the original story on Fanfics.me.
Read the story in calibre
calibre includes an e-book viewer, so you can open the EPUB and read it on your computer without a separate e-reader.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature for listening to the story from the EPUB in your library.
Convert the story to another format
WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
If you need another format, calibre can convert the imported EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. Select the book, start the conversion, and choose the format you need.
You can keep the original EPUB in your library after converting it so that you can use it for another conversion later.
Transfer the book by USB
calibre can send books to an e-reader connected by USB. Add the EPUB to your library, connect the device to your computer, and use calibre’s device transfer option to send the book.

Check that the book appears in the device’s library before disconnecting it.
Update a story in your library
When a Fanfics.me story gets new chapters, return to WP Downloader and download the whole story again. WP Downloader cannot update the EPUB already in your library.
Add the new file to calibre, then keep or remove the older copy as you prefer. Check the title and metadata before transferring the newer file so that you can tell it apart from any previous copy on your device.
